INNOVATION IN FOCUS
A major international company with over 150 years of history, and a leader in the food and livestock sectors, approached Silea with a specific challenge. Active in several
divisions, including chocolate, oilseeds, cereals, sweeteners, and starches, the company required an advanced solution for loading and unloading liquid sweeteners such as fructose and glucose, essential for its operations.
A FLEXIBLE AND HYGIENIC SYSTEM
The client needed a system that could load and unload different types of liquids from the same point, ensuring maximum flexibility and hygienic safety. The main
challenge was to prevent cross-contamination of the liquids through a system that could be easily cleaned and would keep the various loading solutions safely separated.
THE TECHNICAL SOLUTION
After a thorough analysis of the situation, Silea designed a bottom-loading arm, starting from the 1403 series, to enable the use of different sweeteners with distinct loading cycles. A key factor was the ability to fully clean the tubing and the arm itself using high-temperature steam cleaning, preventing contamination between loading cycles.
PERFECT BALANCE
Another challenge that emerged during the project was the balancing of the arm during the different phases of loading, unloading, and cleaning. The weight of the arm varied depending on its state-full or empty-causing difficulties for the operator. Silea addressed this issue by implementing a pneumatic balancing system in addition to the existing spring system, ensuring perfect balance in every phase and simplifying operator handling, thanks also to the integration of a remote control panel for effortless operation.
MISSION COMPLETED!
Thanks to Silea's custom approach, the client now has a system that meets all its requirements, fully adhering to strict food industry regulations. The implemented solution enables efficient, safe, and flexible loading, with maximum ease of cleaning and maintenance.
