Safety is a key priority during road tanker loading operations. Static electricity generated by product free fall, foam formation during filling and limited vertical clearance
can all affect the efficiency and reliability of loading operations.
To address these challenges, Silea Liquid Transfer developed the Series 4010 Telescopic Drop Pipe, a solution engineered to provide safer, more controlled and more efficient product transfer.
The advantages of bottom loading
The operating principle is both simple and effective. During loading, the inner pipe extends until it reaches the bottom of the tank, maintaining constant contact throughout the filling process. This configuration provides several operational benefits:
• reduces the risk of sparks caused by static electricity;
• minimises foam formation when handling foaming products;
• improves the overall safety and quality of the loading operation;
• enables loading even where vertical space is limited, such as under roofs or fixed structures.
Two configurations for maximum flexibility
The Series 4010 Telescopic Drop Pipe is available in two different versions to suit specific operating requirements.
• The winch-operated version allows manual extension of the inner pipe through a steel cable and hand-operated winch, providing precise positioning and full operator control.
• The spring-operated version automatically extends the inner pipe through the pressure generated by the flowing product. Once loading is completed, a calibrated spring
returns the pipe to its initial position, ensuring fast and reliable operation.
Supporting more sustainable loading operations
The telescopic drop pipe can be equipped with a vapour recovery system. By collecting vapours generated during loading, this solution helps reduce atmospheric emissions, improves operator safety and supports compliance with environmental regulations, contributing to more sustainable industrial operations.

The Series 4010 is designed in compliance with major international standards and is available with ATEX, PED, API-ASTM-ANSI-TTMA and EAC certifications for selected
international markets.
